Colors of Yellowstone

Staying engaged when the “usual suspects” are unavailable.

Abstract images of nature might not be what you expect to see from me, but this is what happens when a street-documentary-travel photographer goes on an early-spring trip to Yellowstone to keep from going stir crazy during Covid.

I spent much of the trip photographing wildlife as if it were people walking down Hollywood Blvd: capturing expressions, putting animals into environmental contexts, and generally enjoying being out in the open and hunting for the image.

As I started to visit the numerous sulfur pools within the park, I fell in love with the abstract landscapes that I could create.

Please enjoy the Colors of Yellowstone
